Chris Horwedel: Your a Jersey boy, what was it
that took you to Maryland?
Isaiah Williams:
Maryland at the time was coming off three wining
seasons so I knew it was an opportunity to play for
a good team. I also really wanted to play in the ACC
and stay as close to home as possible so my family
could see my games.
Chris Horwedel: Is there a player you pattern
the way you play after?
Isaiah Williams:
There are two players currently in the NFL that I
pattern my game after, Randy Moss and Larry
Fitzgerald. Randy Moss does a great job stretching
the field and Fitzgerald makes plays that he
shouldn't make.
Chris Horwedel: Do you think that it's
necessary for players to have a certain amount of an
ego in order to truly excel in the game of football?
Isaiah Williams:
I don't think players should have and ego, but it's
very important to have a high level of confidence.
Chris Horwedel: What's something that would
surprise people about Isaiah Williams?
Isaiah Williams:
Something surprising about me is that I am a pro
wrestling fan
Chris Horwedel: If you had to single out one
guy on your team for having stepped this year, who
would it be and why?
Isaiah Williams:
Da'rel Scott. He stepped up in real big games
for us and also has bounced back where other players
might have folded.
Chris Horwedel:
Hey Da'Rel's from a couple blocks away, in your
opinion what kind of future does the kid have?
Isaiah Williams:
Da'Rel Will have a great career at Maryland. Coaches
love him and I'm sure they will put him in positions
to make a lot of plays.
Chris Horwedel: If you could add any one
current college football player to the Maryland
roster today, who would it be and why?
Isaiah Williams:
I would add my boy Brian Cushing to our team, the
player from USC I played with in high school and he
is real good at making things fun.
Chris Horwedel: How do you feel you stack up
against the top receivers in the country?
Isaiah Williams:
I think physically I stack up great with any and
every receiver in the nation. I think with a few
opportunities I'd rank right up there with the top
prospects.
Chris Horwedel: If you could pick a pro team
to play for, who would it be?
Isaiah Williams:
I would love to play for the Giants, Jets, or
Patriots. I'm not real picky though any team that
needs me would be great.
Chris Horwedel:
What's more important to you in the beginning of
your NFL career: Being on a great team or being
able to play early on?
Isaiah Williams:
I think being on a great team and playing early
would be equally important. I think playing on a
great team is the ultimate goal, but I do
realize that playing early is an opportunity to
get my name out and continue being able to play
on that level.
Chris Horwedel:
Let's say you're named the college football
commissioner tomorrow, what's the first rule you
would change?
Isaiah Williams:
One rule I would change in NCAA football would be
giving every player 5 years of eligibility. Some
players like myself miss out on very important years
because of certain amount of reps they take as a
true freshmen. This ends up costing them a whole
year for only play a few snaps.
Chris Horwedel: What's your current
height/weight/40?
Isaiah Williams:
6'3 210 4.35
Chris Horwedel:
What's been your single greatest football moment so
far?
Isaiah Williams:
Catching a touchdown pass from my good friend Danny
Oquendo
Chris Horwedel: Lets talk get to the
important stuff. What's the last movie you saw, cd
you bought and video game that you played?
Isaiah Williams:
Saw 5, I can't remember the last CD and the last
video game was Call of Duty 5.
Chris Horwedel: What's the best advice you've
been given?
